ShieldLog collects minimal data. When you visit the site, our hosting provider logs standard server access data: your IP address, the page you requested, your browser type, and the date and time of your visit. This is standard and not something we can or do use to identify you personally.
If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used only to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies. A session cookie is set when you visit the site and expires when you close your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics that build profiles of your behaviour. We do not have Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking tools installed.
If you use our reader supporter programme, a cookie is used to maintain your logged-in state. This is functional, not advertising-related.
What We Don't Do
We do not sell, share, or rent your data to third parties. We do not run advertising networks that track you across the web. We do not have affiliate relationships that create financial incentives based on your clicks or purchases. We review products because we find them worth reviewing, not because someone is paying us to do so.
Third-Party Services
Our site is hosted by a third-party provider who processes server logs in the normal course of operation. We use a third-party email service to receive contact form submissions. We have reviewed both services' privacy practices and are satisfied they meet our standards, but we encourage you to review their policies independently if you have concerns.
Your Rights
If you have submitted your contact information to us and would like it deleted, or would like to know what information we hold about you, contact us at the address on our contact page and we'll respond within 30 days. We comply with applicable data protection law including UK GDPR.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll note the update date at the top of this page. We won't reduce your privacy protections without clear notice.
